Position SummaryThe employee in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external guests. The Security Manager is responsible and accountable for the operation of the Security department. All employees are required to practice the customer courtesy skills of See.Say.Smile to ensure our guests are afforded a remarkable experience. The Security Manager is also responsible for the physical security and safety aspects of the facility as well as the successful operation of the Security department.
Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe following statements are intended as general examples of the duties of this position and are not all-inclusive for specific positions. Other reasonable duties may be assigned.
  • Ensure at all times operating principles are being adhered to:
  • Clean – Keep all areas clean and pristine.
  • Safe – Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Friendly - Use customer courtesy skills of See.Say.Smile to provide superior guest service.
  • Fun – Have fun! Be interactive with all internal and external guests while maintaining professional standards.
  • Ensure all Security personnel adhere to and have knowledge of the policies and procedures of the Internal Controls System, Code of State Regulations, Missouri Revised Statutes and Minimum Internal Controls System and company Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of policies and procedures of the internal controls for the property.
  • Interact with all guests and employees to positively affect interactions with guests and employees, and demonstrate resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions. Work effectively and courteously with fellow employees .
  • Develops and manages the budget for the Security Department. Reviews financial data to ensure expenditures are being recorded correctly.
  • Ensures the safety, security, and comfort of employees and customers. Provides protection and safety to patrons and employees.
  • Reviews staffing levels to maintain budgeted level of employment. Manages staff members, delegates duties and assigns responsibilities.
  • Maintains constant awareness of staffing in the Security department. Responsible for hiring, interviewing and organizing training to maintain adequate staffing. Also responsible for issuing progressive discipline and terminations of staff when needed.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and tools to ensure timely completion of tasks and cost control.
  • Maintain good public communication skills and associations with vendors and other internal departmental Managers.
  • Meet with other departmental Directors and Managers as necessary.
  • Produce reports and/or spreadsheets of Security activities.
  • Responsible for training of new employees and continued training of current employees. Handles and develops training materials and assures that they are in compliance with all appropriate regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring all evaluations in the Security department are being completed and issued on or before the due date.
  • Completes all company-required training within designated time frames.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions/Essential Functions
  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, computer keyboard, telephone, office equipment, all Security tools, medical equipment and diffibulator, and company vehicles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and all levels of employees to include sometimes confrontational communication.
  • Ability to move effectively and efficiently around all areas of facility so as to be able to observe security activities
  • Ability to work in a brightly lit, smoke filled casino environment with above average noise levels.
  • Standing, Walking, Bending, Lifting up to 30 pounds
  • Availability to work 24-hours hours a day, 7 days a week, varied work schedules and holidays.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures in an interruptive environment.
  • Exposed to all temperatures, noise, dust, fumes, and smoke.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Sound technical understanding and experience with all Security duties and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, local government, and gaming laws including OSHA regulations as applicable.
  • Prefer three to five years’ experience in security in investigations, surveillance, and patron/property liability of high volume business or industry.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a valid TIPS certification .
  • Ability to analyze and interpret departmental needs and results.
  • Ability to understand and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures in an interruptive environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality relative to operations financial data, company policies, procedures, promotions and employee relation’s issues
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Valid Level I Missouri Gaming license.
  • Must be able to receive and maintain all required certification.
  • Must complete all required company training.
