Express Employment Professionals - Round Rock, TX is Hiring an Electrical Repair Technician Near Cedar, TX

We’re looking for a Traffic Signal Technician for an outstanding municipality to help operate and maintain the signal and light maintenance in the Williamson County Area. This is a great opportunity to take advantage of the growth that’s happening all over the Greater Austin area. Cities are growing fast!

The Major job duties for this position include repairing and maintaining traffic signals, school zone beacon assemblies, pedestrian crossing beacon assemblies, roadway illumination and all related infrastructure and systems.

Work schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday OT as needed

As an essential employee you are subject to regular work hours, after-hour call outs, and scheduled overtime during emergency situation which can include icy weather, flooding, police department assistance, including a required on-call rotation and special events

Pay rate: $19.00 -$26.00/hour, depending on experience

What we’re looking for:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 year experience in repair, maintenance and/or construction of traffic signals and roadway illumination infrastructure (preferred)
  • 2 years' experience in repair and maintenance of electrical and/or mechanical systems (preferred)
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Technician 1 or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
  • Verifiable certification from a basic electricity training course for non-electricians OR the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Class A Texas CDL or ability to acquire one within 90 days
  • Valid TX driver's license

What you'll be doing:

  • Monitoring traffic systems
  • Repairing, replacing and installing traffic signals, school zone beacon, crosswalk beacon, roadway illumination, and communication equipment
  • Conducting routine and preventative maintenance on equipment currently in operation
  • Operate a bucket truck, work truck and other tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned work
  • Operate chainsaws, trimming and pruning tools
