Senior Accountant

We manufacture hubs and spindle assemblies as well as planter row unit wear parts for the agricultural industry. We are looking for an ambitious Senior Accountant. The qualified candidate will be responsible for receivables, payables, payroll, and the general ledger. This full-time position requires an individual that is well-versed in accounting principles, accounting software, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger. 

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounts receivable transactions and process customer payments.
• Review and process vendor invoices including reconciliation of all vendor and purchase clearing accounts.
• Monitor payment schedules and ensure timely disbursements.
• Process payroll in collaboration with outside payroll company.
• Process month-end closing entries and assist CPA with year-end entries.
• Review, reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts monthly to assure accurate financial statements.
• Develop and analyze appropriate costing based on financial data.
• Prepare and maintain monthly KPI’s.
• Work with IT providers to ensure systems are accurate and efficient.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience.
• Experience as a manufacturing accountant with minimum of 3 years.
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and familiarity with relevant computer software (Sage 100 a plus!).
• Effective oral and written communication, administrative, and organizational skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with management, staff, customers, and vendors.
