Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Child Care Professional to join our team as Assistant Director of Skies the Limit at WVNG CDC. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and creating a safe, nurturing environment for them to learn and grow. This person will perform duties under the general direction of the Director and will have supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications:

- Successful completion of a 4-year college or university degree with a major course of study related to early childhood education, child development, or similar field

- Previous experience teaching children in a childcare setting

- Ability to select, train and supervise childcare and preschool employees

- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and regulations

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of childcare professionals

Major Responsibilities:

- Assisting Director in the operation of program and implementing all WV State and CYS regulations and NAEYC standards

- Acting supervisor in Director's absence

-Applies professional knowledge to plan, implement, and supervise a comprehensive program that promotes positive growth and development of children

-Provides program oversight and accountability for the performance of assigned staff and the safety and well being of children

-Ensures assigned staff follow risk management procedures (i.e. abuse prevention, identification, and reporting; accident prevention; etc.)

- Monitors and analyzes adult/child ratio sheets to ensure proper staffing policies are enforced.

- Prepares work schedules for assigned staff to meet ratio and group size requirements.

- Ensures children are appropriately supervised at all times.

- Ensures compliance with health, fire, safety, facility and program regulatory requirements

- Complisncr with fee policies, program registration/enrollment, and baselines standards and benchmarks.

- Assists with recruitment and retention

- Conducts written analyses of monthly expenses, budget, and inspections

- Monitors food service program for area ensuring compliance with all Army, CACFP, and USDA food program policies

- Implements an active program of parental involvement, providing parent education opportunities and encouraging parent participation

- Works cooperatively with other administrative team members to ensure seamless service and continuity of quality operations

- May be required to perform health related practices as reasonable accommodation for children with disabilities
