Overview:

Florida Engineering is currently seeking a qualified individual with expertise in construction cost estimates to join our growing Reserve Study team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to formalize comprehensive reports that include property descriptions for one or multiple buildings, along with construction cost estimates presented through graphic charts and/or tables similar to Excel spreadsheets. In this role you would collaborate closely with our inspection team to help gather all the required information/data to accurately perform cost analysis when creating our customers reserve study reports. After time with our firm and training, this role will grow, and you will serve as the lead representative of our firm on new incoming Reserve Studies including SIRS Reports while having the support of our engineering teams and leadership. Responsibilities include:

Formalizing Comprehensive Reports:

  • Create detailed reports that include property descriptions for one or multiple buildings.
  • Present construction cost estimates through graphic charts and/or tables like Excel spreadsheets.

Construction Cost Assessment:

  • Leverage your expertise in construction costs to assess project estimates.

Leveraging Software Proficiency:

  • Utilize computer software tools effectively to generate accurate and informative reports.

Collaboration and Data Gathering:

  • Work closely with our inspection team to gather essential information and data.
  • Ensure precise cost analysis when creating reserve study reports for our clients.

Qualifications-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering is preferred
  • 3 years of prior experience as a Reserve Specialist, Project Estimator, Insurance Appraiser, or related role is beneficial.
  • Understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with estimating Labor and material cost, in Florida, based on National handbooks, for maintaining and updating various building elements.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed cost estimates (Tables and Figures).
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word & Excel, PDF and other project management software.
  • Precision in calculations and documentation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new projects and challenges.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Additional Notes:

  • While familiarity with reserve studies is preferred but not required, candidates with experience in project estimation, insurance appraisal, HOA Budgets, or similar roles are encouraged to apply.
