Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and submission of accurate and timely external financial statements, including quarterly and annual reports, in compliance with SEC regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial information and disclosures for external reporting.
- Assist in internal financial reporting as may be required.
- Prepare external reporting to lenders.
- Stay current with changes in SEC regulations, accounting standards, and disclosure requirements to ensure the organization’s ongoing compliance.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process and ensure a smooth and efficient review of financial statements.
- Assist in the design and maintenance of effective internal controls related to financial reporting processes.
- Work closely with internal audit and compliance teams to identify and address control deficiencies and implement improvements.
- Research and interpret accounting guidance to address complex accounting issues and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Provide guidance to other company stakeholders on the application of accounting standards and treatment of various transactions.
- Collaborate with the finance and accounting teams, legal, other departments, and external investor relations team to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, legal advisors, and regulatory bodies regarding financial reporting matters.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Demonstrate continuous improvement and promote a progressive quality culture.
- Successfully attain performance period accountabilities established by the employee and their supervisor.
- Successfully attain budget/business objectives.
- Comply with corporate policies and procedures.
- Comply with regulatory and industry standards.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CPA required
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, preferably with a focus on SEC reporting within a publicly traded company.
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- Proficient in financial software, including financial reporting software such as Workiva, and Microsoft Excel.
