A family in Chatham is looking for a wonderful after school caregiver for their two children ages 2 and 5 years old. The schedule would be Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. However, during the summer and when schools are closed, they ideally are seeking for someone to work between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. if possible.
Ideal Nanny:
The ideal nanny is someone who is calm, funny, motivated, happy, vibrant, and loves to play and engage with the children. Someone who has a great imagination and is trustworthy, great problem solving skills, reliable, easy going, proactive, accountable, responsible, and can help when the kids are feeling overwhelmed. Someone who is respectful and will refrain from using their personal cell phone. A nanny who will be transparent, reads the room. Someone who wants to create a bond and genuinely cares. The nannies' main priority should always be the children. Ideally this family is seeking an extension of their family, someone who can maintain a happy and safe environment in the parents absence.
Duties:
Tidying up after the children including dishes, toys, and anything having to do with childcare. Supervising play dates. Helping the children with writing, reading, homework, and other activities. Pick up and transportation from school and activities, etc. Occasional assistance with the children's laundry is a huge plus.
About the children:
The oldest is 5 years old, he is caring, happy, anxious, attentive, smart, and sometimes slow to warm up. He likes to be in control as it helps him when he's feeling anxious, he gets over stimulated or overwhelmed sometimes due to his sensory/processing challenges. He will be entering kindergarten in the fall and his activities include OT, TBT, soccer, basketball, t-ball and tennis. He loves all sports but also loves music.
The lovely 2 year old is funny, happy, attached to his parents, active and at times, like his brother, slow to warm up. He will be going into preschool and his activities include speech and OT. He enjoys the sandbox, kinetic sand, loves balls, golf, music, and dancing.
About the home:
There are no pets in the home. The parents are very focused on the children and their happiness / environment. They are hands-on, caring, fun people, who have a lot on their plates and both have full-time jobs.
Mom has a lot on her plate at work and is happy to release some responsibility for the perfect nanny. She is very attuned to people's energy and reacts based on her emotional intelligence. She cares a great deal for her children, she is a planner, calm, and particular. Dad is caring, relaxed at times, and funny. He is a jokester who can handle hard conversations.
