Teya Development Company LLC is Hiring a Buyer I Near Chesapeake, VA

Job Opportunity for Buyer I

Job Summary: Compiles information and records to draw up purchase orders for procurement of materials and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Purchases a moderate volume and variety of generally routine or low-mid dollar materials, supplies, and services to support program requirements in accordance with corporate policies and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). 
  • Generate requisitions from Bill of Materials (BOM) for upper management approval.
  • Maintains all Overhead orders and provides team status updates
  • Analyzes supplier bids and documents requirements for best price, delivery, quality, performance and service.
  • Awards/tracks Purchase Orders to expedite materials and follows-up with suppliers and maintains an up-to-date PO log
  • Processes Return Material Authorizations for rejected materials.
  • Participates in maintaining material status, progress, and schedule reports.
  • Manage purchase order folders in an organized and auditable manner.
  • Prepares and transmits Request for Quotations (RFQ) to qualified suppliers for competitive bids
  • Works with program managers and/or contract managers to develop vendor specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials and equipment.
  • Assist in quoting across several projects at a time.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/equivalent.
  • Three years’ buying/purchasing experience.
  • Two year’s government procurement experience.
  • APICS Certification or Institute for Supply Management Certification is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Deltek Cost Point Purchasing Program.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR.

Preferences:

  • Industrial/shipyard buying experience.
  • Working knowledge of CPSR requirements.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
  • Works well in a fast paced environment and with a team
