SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALISTDuration: 6 Month Contract with a poneital right to hireLocation: Chesterfield, MO 63005 - (onsite role)The human resources (HR) team is focused on what people need and how to provide it. We're searching for a qualified and resourceful human resources generalist to support our department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The human resources generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, and will help with important functions such as recruiting, employee relations, and benefits.
Objectives of this role
  • Participates in the development of HR objectives and systems.
  • Administers benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs.
  • Suggests new procedures and policies for improving employee experience as well as the efficiency of the HR department.
  • Ensures compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws.
Responsibilities
  • Completes a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department. Addresses day-to-day questions and requests from employees.
  • Manages and administers benefits, including open enrollment, auditing and COBRA administration.
  • Provides guidance to employees on absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters.
  • Prepares job descriptions and participates in the recruitment process.
  • Supports the administration of company policies. Conducts investigations into employee relations issues and concerns. Makes recommendations to the HR Manager for resolution of employee relations issues and concerns.
  • Participates in new employee orientation activities; makes presentations regarding benefits; explains coverage and programs.
  • Prepares and processes unemployment, disability, and life insurance claims. Maintains required documentation for Affirmative Action, Leaves of Absence (STD/LTD), Attendance, etc.
  • Utilizes the HRIS system for updating employee data, company information, forms, and information on benefits.
  • Assists with payroll processing, including local and state tax administration.
  • Maintains employee personnel records.
  • Administers service award program; Assists with the planning of employee engagement events.
  • Other HR duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills Required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude for problem solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
  • Knowledge of employment/labor laws.
  • Knowledge of HRIS and ability to learn new technical systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or a related field of study
  • 2 years of related work experience.
  • Experience with ADP and/or manufacturing a plus.
Work EnvironmentThis position is an onsite position.
