Hoffmann Aviation Services, located in Chesterfield, MO, has a position available for a Purchasing Agent who enjoys job diversity and service. We are a leading aerial mapping and geospatial technology company with a corporate office and aircraft facility across from Spirit of St. Louis Airport.

The role of the Purchasing Agent to provide general overall facility management services including continuous monitoring of the office and hangar along with coordinating all purchases for the Aircraft Maintenance department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain control of inventory by receiving and inspecting parts while ensuring the inventory parts room is adequately controlled and safeguarded.
  • Maintain certain documentation necessary for efficient flight operations including but not limited to coding of invoices, opening of work orders, and tracking of authorized personnel lists.
  • Work with vendors to purchase equipment for the Aircraft Maintenance department along with negotiating contracts with service providers to handle necessary office and hangar maintenance.
  • Proactively inspect and review all facilities for potential safety issues, necessary upgrades, or improvements.
  • Respond to all internal stakeholders timely, verify the issue and provide timely solutions.
  • Assist pilots with procuring equipment, subscriptions, fuel and maintenance services out of town, plus other ad hoc issues.
  • Work within the Aircraft Maintenance System software for all aspects to acquire materials, supplies and outside vendors to traceable origin as required by Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Maintain and update documentation as necessary to continue department ISO compliance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Associate degree in finance, business, or related field preferred; High School diploma or GED acceptable with relevant experience.
  • 2 years' experience in purchasing, including vendor management, purchasing and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of aircraft parts is not essential, but preferred.
  • Strong software and Windows / Microsoft suite capabilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) to interact with all levels of organization and external parties.

Essential Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to meet multiple tight deadlines and work outside normal business hours as needed
  • Ability to walk, bend, crawl, climb ladders and lift, carry and move up to 50# as needed
  • Ability use small tools and handle small parts requiring manual dexterity
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record to drive company vehicles
  • Must pass DOT drug testing (pre-employment, random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion)
