Paralegal/Legal Assistant
Our firm has provided legal services in Northern California for over 65 years. We have an opportunity for a full-time paralegal/legal assistant in a busy family law practice. Compensation includes benefits and is commensurate with experience.
The position is full time following a 90-day probationary period.
Experience: Preference for 5 years’ experience in family law but will consider less for qualified candidate. This is not, however, an entry level position. Candidate will be expected to immediately provide timely and quality support.
Duties: Offering support with all matters related to family law practice including preparation of pleadings, preparation and response to discovery, and communications with clients and opposing counsel. Duties will also include secretarial responsibilities such as calendaring, managing and organizing case files, and filing documents with the court.
Requirements: Successful candidate will have exceptional inter-personal and communication skills and be client-services oriented. Must be able to multitask in a demanding environment and have the necessary skills and ability to manage a significant workload. Although work is conducted under supervision of attorney, candidate is expected to manage their own workload, without micro-management, and be proactive in the performance of their duties. Attention to detail essential. Must have in-depth knowledge and experience with Judicial Council Forms and MS Word.
