Position Summary:

The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor – Deltar Fasteners will report to the Customer Relations Manager – Deltar Fasteners and will be responsible to oversee all activities as they relate to departmental objectives including delivery performance, customer relations and related administrative practices.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise a team of employees, including temporary and contract employees.
• Assist with daily Shipping activities such as order processing, receiving, housekeeping, etc. 
• Have an in depth understanding of each function within the Shipping Department.
• Attend QAR meetings relating to Shipping caused concerns/8D completion as applicable.
• Establish or update work instructions and procedures as necessary.
• Initial contact for resolution of day to day problems.
• Continuously improve Shipping/Receiving operations.
• Maintenance of accurate inventory and audits.
• Maintain and promote a safe working environment.
• Conduct employee performance evaluations.
• Address employee performance/counseling issues as they arise.
• Scheduling personnel to duties.
• Oversee employee vacation time and schedule coverage.
• Maintenance of overall warehouse area and related activities, including completion of work orders when necessary.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Management or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• Strong communication skills; verbal and written
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Previous Shipping/Receiving or manufacturing experience
• Proven inventory control knowledge and understanding of auditing functions.
• Ability to work effectively in on-demand situations.
