Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Job Summary:
You will be working for a custom metal fabricating company located near downtown Cincinnati, OH which was founded in 1920 solving our customers dust, pollution, and air handling challenges. The ideal candidate must have a strong mechanical aptitude ~ showing attention to detail ~ be very organized ~ and be willing to learn the company's procedures and way of doing things. Proficiency in AutoCAD/AutoCAD Mechanical is a must with any experience with Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks being a plus, as is any experience with sheet metal and or metal fabrications. You will be asked to create assembly and shop drawings of dust/fume collection systems, ductwork, bases, platforms, booths, structural parts, specialty sheet metal parts, etc.
Duties:
- Create assembly drawings
- Create shop drawings for fabrication
- Create bill of materials
- Generate purchase requisitions for parts and materials
- Field measure at customers facility (may require out of town travel with overnight stays)
- Perform Teams meetings with customers/team members to review and discuss designs
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in mechanical engineering technology (MET) or related field
- Proficient in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Mechanical (Inventor or Solidworks a plus)
- High attention to detail
- Must be organized
- Must be able to work with others ~ designers/listing dept/shop personnel/sales team/customers
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with Outlook/Excel/Word/Teams
Schedule & Salary:
- Full time position being non remote
- Salaried exempt position
- Pay to be based on experience and abilities
