Job Title: Licensed Social Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Social Worker to join our educational institution. As a Licensed Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students. Your primary responsibility will be to provide a range of services, including a focus on student attendance, counseling, assessment, intervention, and referral, to students, families, and staff. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create a positive and inclusive school environment that promotes academic success and overall student development.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide individual and group counseling services to students, addressing a range of social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.

2. Conduct home visits and collaborate with families to prioritize student attendance.

3. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents/guardians to develop and implement intervention plans that support students' academic and social-emotional growth.

4. Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Section 504 Plans, ensuring appropriate accommodations and supports are provided.

5. Serve as a resource for teachers and staff, offering guidance and strategies to address students' social and emotional needs in the classroom.

6. Advocate for students' rights and access to appropriate educational opportunities, working closely with families, community agencies, and other stakeholders.

7. Provide crisis intervention and support during emergencies or challenging situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.

8. Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to coordinate services and resources for students and families.

9. Conduct workshops and trainings for staff, parents, and students on topics related to social-emotional development, bullying prevention, conflict resolution, and other relevant areas.

10. Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions, assessments, and interventions, adhering to legal and ethical guidelines.

11. Stay updated on current research, best practices, and legal requirements in the field of school social work through professional development activities.

Requirements:

1. Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited university or college.

2. Current state licensure as a School Social Worker or equivalent credential, adhering to the regulations and requirements of the relevant licensing board.

3. Previous experience working as a school social worker or in a similar educational setting is highly desirable.

4. Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development, mental health issues, and social-emotional learning.

5. Excellent counseling and assessment skills, with the ability to develop effective intervention plans based on individual student needs.

6. Familiarity with special education laws and regulations, including IDEA and Section 504.

7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, teachers, and administrators.

8. Cultural competence and the ability to work with diverse populations, respecting individual differences and promoting inclusivity.

9. Knowledge of community resources and agencies that provide services to children and families.

10. Ethical conduct, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.

11. Proficiency in using technology and software applications relevant to school social work practice.
