(Grant-funded position)

Under supervision and guidance from the Behavioral Health and Addiction Services Harm Reduction Supervisor, the Mobile Outreach (MO) Injury Prevention Coordinator will manage Franklin County Public Health’s efforts to expand its capacity to provide harm reduction services by utilizing the Mobile Outreach Vehicle (MOV) including pop-up surge response, Overdose Fatality Review (OFR) community outreach, while providing compliance and management for the Local Opioid Settlement Grant Fund deliverables.

This position focuses on providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of Franklin County Public Health.

Duties Include:

• Assists with and coordinates the writing, editing, and collecting documentation to assure full compliance with a local Grant including deliverables, interventions, and evaluation outcomes. Will manage the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the mobile outreach harm reduction program and services.
• Equip the MOV with evidence-based supplies and resource materials to enable more efficient outreach to target populations most at-risk, such as people that use illicit opioids and stimulants, individuals who have experienced an overdose, justice-involved individuals, unhoused individuals, and those who lack transportation.
• Conducts community education programs for diverse populations and coordinates responses to request for injury prevention information and acts as a spokesperson for injury and harm reduction issues.
• Link individuals to education and resource services such as immunizations, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certified or waived at-home self-test kits for separate detection of Hep C and HIV; along with the development of testing resource guide and fact sheet to accompany kits, and printed resources for what to do if someone test positive.
• Coordinate On-Demand “Pop Up” events via a website link for communities to request comprehensive harm reduction outreach services for community events. In addition, manages the implementation of pop-up outreach events two times a month in zip codes identified for higher risk of overdose.
• Serves as a resource of health education for providers, health care systems and providers, and community agencies. Serves on internal and external committees.
• Assemble and facilitate meetings to assure coordination and collaboration. Maintain documentation for strategies, activities and responsibilities related to surveillance and prevention activities. Participate in site visits, meetings, conferences, and training activities as needed.
• Promotes program sustainability by identifying new sources of funding. Assists in preparing public and private grant/contract application narratives, work plans and budget justifications.
• Speaks as assigned before community groups, Board of Health, businesses, and governmental agencies to inform and to enlist their participation in injury prevention activities.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, Public Administration, or related field.
• Two years of public health, social service mental/behavioral health or addiction related work experience
• One (1) year of directly related experience in grants writing, grants management.
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to meet insurability requirements.

Hiring Wage Range: $25.40/hour - $29.21/hour. This is a non-exempt position.
