Description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising production employees on assigned shift to ensure production guidelines are being met within established timing, quality and cost standards. This position has emphasis on semi-skilled and skilled operations, quality assurance and troubleshooting. Must possess a high level of technical proficiency to assist operators in problem solving while exercising considerable judgement and have the ability to supervise the production process. Direct the routine maintenance and set-up of machines, equipment and facilities. Position is responsible for improving efficiencies, cut costs and widen production capabilities.

• Responsibilities include training employees to ensure safe operating procedures are being followed, including lock-out/tag-out; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems while maintaining desired product quality, safety of employees, and sanitation of facility.
• Maintain adequate knowledge of product and equipment to ensure ability to direct employees to perform the job properly while carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with OWS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) and applicable laws
• Responsible for shift schedule to include: work station assignments/rotations, employee training, vacations, breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations while directly supervising production employees and maintaining a high standard of employees relations.

 Minimum:

• 5 years of experience supervising in a food manufacturing environment
• Strong planning/time management skills and balancing of resources
• Proven leadership experience in a Team setting
• Strong experience with Microsoft Suite, Google applications, time and attendance applications

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field preferred
• 6 years of experience supervising in a food manufacturing environment
• Prefer familiarity with dry goods and packaging
• Proven successes with increasing efficiencies, decreasing down time
• Leading/managing teams of 40
• Knowledge and experience with HACCP, GMP, USDA, FDA, SQF, OSHA
• Proven success in building teams and motivating them to produce quality products
• Experience in scheduling production of products and people
• Working experience in analyzing and improving production
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure that downtime is minimized and yield is maximize
