Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical care to join our team. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will primarily work on hospital units, providing comprehensive care to adult patients with acute medical conditions and those recovering from surgeries. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives and collaborate closely with healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with physicians to manage patient care effectively.
- Assist in pre and post-surgical patient care.
- Execute tasks delegated by physicians.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
- Implement treatment plans and provide post-operative care.
- Utilize health coaching techniques to educate patients on self-care.
- Engage in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions for patients.
- Maintain proficiency in airway management and aseptic techniques.
- Utilize ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation.
- Employ critical care skills when needed.
Experience:
- Possess 2-3 years of recent acute care experience.
- Hold a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Cerner or similar electronic health record systems.
- Familiarity with sonography is advantageous.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of working with patients requiring critical care is beneficial.
