Summary
The Registered Nurse for the Outreach Specialty Clinic is responsible for coordinating all clinical support for each patient seen in the Outreach Specialty Clinic area in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Cozad Community Health System.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis description intends to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this job. ·Demonstrates skills and judgment necessary to implement quality healthcare services to all patients within the scope of the Registered Nursing licensure.
·Escorts patients into exam rooms and perform tasks such as but not limited to; collecting patient information, obtain vital signs, perform a physical assessment, administering injections, assisting with minor office surgical procedures, and any additional requirements of the Provider.
·Accurately documents information as required for each clinic in the appropriate location; either in our EHR system, on the OutreachSpecialty Clinic Ancillary Order form, or in a providers EHR.
·Executes providers order for medication administration, EKGs, labs, radiological testing, etc.
Arranges for referrals as ordered by provider and communicates with both patient and provider about future appointments.
·Notifies prior authorizations department as needed prior to performing of any testing/procedures.
·Performs emergency treatment as needed.
·Summarizes cares of the patient and assigns appropriate charges as based on the policies and procedures of the Outreach SpecialtyClinic.
·Collaborates with all healthcare providers and other departments to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
·Coordinates the scheduling of nuclear testing and diagnostic treadmills.
·Prepares both the patient and equipment, monitors the patient, and completes all required documentation as per the polices and protocols during cardiac stress testing.
·Follows all HIPAA guidelines and promotes and ensures patient safety.
·Fulfills mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive and professional environment.
·Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. One year of full time RN experience in a rural health setting preferred. Electronic Health Records experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification
Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Nebraska
Basic Life Support (CPR)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with providers, patients, visitors, and employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
