This position is located in Del Norte County in Crescent City.Most positions at CDCR Enterprise Information Services are eligible for telework. This position requires local in-person duties to be performed although some telework may be available. Specific telework schedules may be discussed further during the interview process. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations is seeking a conscientious team player who can improve collaboration and execute IT service delivery to various programs that supports CDCR mission. Under initial close supervision of the IT Sup. II, the Information Technology Technician (ITT) will assist and support to all Institution automated information systems. The ITT performs assigned systems analysis, assists in the coordination of computer systems and operations, and trains users in operation procedures. Confers with information systems staff in system studies and overall standardization of computer programs and possible liabilities. Performs liaison functions as assigned. Knowledge of electronic data processing equipment and its capabilities, and electronic computer configuration. Operational knowledge of computer applications.The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. The Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) is an intuitive, user-friendly system that provides the applicant access to real-time updates throughout the hiring process. HRTS will require new candidates to set up an account, which allows them to track their application's progress. Through their account portal, candidates will also be able to provide any additional information needed in the hiring process, including setting up interviews as needed. Pelican Bay State Prison (PBSP) opened in 1989 and is the only supermax facility in the state of California. The 275-acre prison is located in Del Norte County, California and the prison takes its name from a shallow bay on the Pacific coast, about 2 miles (3 km) to the west. The prison lies in a detached section of Crescent City, several miles north of the main urban area and just south of the Oregon border.Position is subject to recruitment and retention bonus following the completion of 12 consecutive qualifying pay periods.This position is located in Del Norte County in Crescent City.

Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
