TriStar Properties is Hiring an Accountant Near Creve Coeur, MO

TriStar Properties, a premier commercial real estate development firm established in 1996, seeks an Accountant to be responsible for the reporting of financial data for our organization’s multiple projects. The accountant will work directly for the principals of the company as well as the acquisition, development, and construction teams.

Opportunity

  • Gain valuable experience in real estate accounting across multiple asset classes handling all aspects of financial reporting
  • Participate in large and complex transactions with direct access and exposure to industry veterans

Responsibilities

  • Maintain general ledger for multiple real estate holdings including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, monthly trial balances, financials, job cost reports, and annual work papers, including tax work papers
  • Manage cash and prepare loan and equity funding requests for multiple projects
  • Process all aspects of accounts receivable and account payable functions for multiple real estate holdings
  • Prepare and update reports for cash, tenant leases, budgeting, and project funding
  • Collect and record lien waivers
  • Prepare annual 1099s
  • Maintain W-9 and certificate of insurance files
  • Oversee property management companies
  • Prepare financial statements and schedules for annual audits
  • Interact with attorneys, brokers, insurance agents, capital partners, auditors, management companies, subcontractors, vendors, and other professionals

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 5 years of experience, preferably with a background in real estate and construction accounting
  • Proficient in use of Excel
  • Experience with Sage50 accounting software or similar accounting software
  • Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills, as well as an understanding of accounting and complex financial analysis
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as a productive member of a team
  • Ability to interact with co-workers, brokers, CPAs, management companies, general contractors, subcontractors, tenants and/or vendors in an articulate, courteous and business-like manner
