Scope of Position: Designs and implements systems and equipment procedures used in manufacturing facilities with the focus of the role being on testing and monitoring equipment, updating current system processes and conducting risk assessments. This role will also plan and conducts activities related to the development of new processes including researching current and emerging technologies, evaluating process cost, quality, and capability alternatives, and performing process.
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Process, Industrial, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Architectural Engineering
• CMfgE certification is a plus
Core Competencies Required:
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar Auto-Desk product.
• Ability to read and interpret building codes and architectural plans.
• Ability to perform various foundational engineering calculations.
• Proficient using programs such as Microsoft Office.
• Strong equipment fault-finding, PLC troubleshooting capability.
• Uses analytical skills for troubleshooting designs not working as planned.
• Interpersonal skills in developing positive working relationships with other team members working with the production process.
• Ability to manage priorities and projects based on assigned schedule and collaborate with facility team.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
• Provides complex equipment and facility layout design reviews and feedback for improvements in manufacturability.
• Facilitates technology transfer from process development to commercial-scale processes for new product introductions.
• Leads lean and Six Sigma processes, value stream mapping, 5S, flow and pull.
• Prepares process development protocols and coordinates activities related to their execution.
• Conducts research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing.
• Conducts tests and monitors the process performance throughout production.
• Works with quality and safety to ensure lean manufacturing processes are aligned with standards.
• Supports ISO 14001 activities.
