Your Role With Us:

Patient Access Specialists are responsible for the pre-registration functions and the scheduling processes. Our PAS are that friendly voice on the end of the phone that courteously obtain accurate demographic, guarantor, and financial information. They are so sharp and accurate at obtaining this information that it assures accurate billing and clinical information. We are currently hiring for either a level I, II or III.

Background/Expertise:

PASI -

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year scheduling. Healthcare related preferred.
  • Keyboarding at 45 wpm.
  • Basic understanding of Medical Terminology and billing codes (ICD-10, CPT) preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Familiarity with contractual nature of HMO and/or PPO insurance plans, Medicare and Medicaid, commercial, workers compensation and other 3rd party payers preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

PASII -

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years scheduling for multiple providers. A minimum of 1 year of work experience within the Centralized Scheduling department.
  • A moderate understanding of insurance authorization and financial processing accounts.
  • Previous EPIC Prelude and Cadence experience
  • Keyboarding at 45 wpm.
  • Moderate understanding of Medical Terminology and billing codes (ICD-10, CPT) preferred.
  • Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Familiarity with contractual nature of HMO and/or PPO insurance plans, Medicare and Medicaid, commercial, workers compensation and other 3rd party payers preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

PASIII -

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. College level course study in healthcare occupations preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years scheduling for multiple providers required. A minimum of 2 years of work experience within the Rehabilitation Scheduling department required. A minimum of 1 year as a Rehab Patient Specialist II, or 1 year as organizational equivalent.
  • A strong understanding of insurance authorization and financial processing accounts.
  • Proficient in EPIC Cadence and/or Prelude preferred.
  • Keyboarding at 45 wpm.
  • Advanced understanding of Medical Terminology and billing codes (ICD-10, CPT) preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Intermediate understanding with contractual nature of HMO and/or PPO insurance plans, Medicare and Medicaid, commercial, workers compensation and other 3rd party payers preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
