Job Title- System Administrator
Location - Davenport ,IOWA
Duration -Full Time
Job DescriptionDesign, deploy, administer VMWare solutions. Installing operating systems and service packs, as well as security patches and bug fixes. Troubleshooting and resolving VMware environment issues.
Maintain process controls databases ensuring database security, stability, and system availability along with proper backup and recovery infrastructure.
Perform system upgrades to keep current with hardware and software that is still supported by the manufacturer or developer.
Maintain the upkeep of process control computers, software licensing agreements, and backups of software files to minimize downtime of manufacturing equipment.
Provide formatted data to the technical and process groups as requested.
Timely access to this data essential for the plant's quality management program and rapid problem solving.
Solve quality and production issues associated with process control systems and develop software to diagnose quality and manufacturing issues.
Interact with vendors and consultants to pursue high quality equipment and services as it relates to process control systems.
Provide process control systems support for plant operations. This support will include analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing network, server, security, and desktop network infrastructure on all levels of process computer environments, with a focus on Level 2 and 3 environments.
Provide support and on call functions to assist in advanced troubleshooting as required to minimize downtime of production operations.
Willing to continually expand working knowledge and application of new hardware, software and programming techniques through training, vendor contacts and published media information.
Basic QualificationsBachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems; or Electrical Engineering with a Minor in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Computer Science from an accredited institution.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred QualificationsProficiency in VMware associated programs and coding languages, such as Windows Server, MS IIS, SAN architecture and ESXi/vSphere.
Familiar with database systems - MS Access, SQL Server, SQLite, or PostgreSQL, along with knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, and integrity concepts
Strong diagnostics and troubleshooting ability for computer equipment, including laptops, servers, printers, and routers.
Experience with programming language skills in C and shell scripting.
Experience with Linux and Windows.
Experience with web applications using HTML, JavaScript, CSS and PHP.
Familiar with database systems - MS Access, SQL Server, Oracle, SQLite, or PostgreSQL.
