We are seeking a highly motivated Field Mechanic to add to our team to service work sites in Earth City, MO. The successful candidate will provide service to our cord trucks, a division of cord moving and storage service automobiles ranging from passage cars to heavy-duty tractor-trailers. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently and as a team.

Light and Heavy – Duty Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Marking equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles such as tractor-trailers, box, trucks, cars, vans, pickups, etc.
• Completing preventive maintenance e.g. engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation, and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters, etc.
• Maintaining vehicle functional condition by listening to operation complaints:
• Conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions; replacing parts and components, and repairing body damage.
• Keeping shop equipment operating by following operation instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns and maintaining supplies.
• Other duties assigned.

Mechanic requirements

• A valid driver’s license. CDL is proffered but not required
• At least 2 years of experience as an automotive mechanic. (light duty)
• 2 years of experience working on diesel/ heavy-duty trucks (Diesel)
• A high school education or equivalent
• Advanced education in automotive repair is highly preferred but not required.
• Ability to comply with pre-employment background screening.
• Uniform is provided, but Tools are not.

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
