Kforce is Hiring a Controller Near Edgewater, MD
- Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close process with emphasis on continuous process improvement
- Establish (in coordination with President) financial and operating benchmarks, and provides accurate financial reporting to owners and external partners
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
- Manages banking relationships as well as the transfer of funding as needed
- Liaises and assists external auditors with the gathering of pertinent information and documentation
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business, Accounting, or related field
- Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant), MBA, or advanced business degree highly preferred
- 6 years of professional accounting experience
- Experience working in a dynamic multi-entity environment
- Experience leading or heavily participating in annual audits
- Experience managing staff with an emphasis on streamlining accounting processes
- Prior residential real estate industry experience and working knowledge of affordable housing
