THE RITESCREEN COMPANY LLC is Hiring an Instrument Technician Near Elizabethton, TN

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Instrument Technician maintains and troubleshoots software programs for process control systems including PLC/PC controllers, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems. Conducts troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance services to equipment throughout the plant, builds and assembles new equipment, and general building maintenance tasks.
Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Mechanical and Electronic Devices and Equipment Responsibilities
  • Installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, calibrating and testing a wide variety of industrial instrumentation such as mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Repairs, calibrates and inspects systems including three phase electric and automated systems and controls and basic programmable logic controllers (PLC).
  • Read and understand blueprints, mechanical and electrical schematics and technical manuals.
  • Calibrate and maintain mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and electronic process controls and measurement instrumentation to approved procedures.
  • Executing preventative maintenance inspections on all instrumentation equipment.
  • General Maintenance Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoots mechanical drives, performs pump repairs and other general facility maintenance.
  • Machine shop practices.
  • Utilizing welding machines to maintain metal equipment, structures and frameworks of multiple dimensions and sizes.
  • Other tasks as identified appropriate for the continuity of business.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalency required. Completion of an applicable trade school program preferred.
  • Lock Out Tag Out for Authorized Personnel and Forklift Operator preferred, or, willingness to complete training.
  • 2 years’ experience as a semi-skilled instrument or maintenance technician.
  • OSHA 30 qualification preferred, or, willingness to complete such.
  • Experience with roll form machinery maintenance and operation preferred.
  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and modify Allen Bradley Studio 5000 PLCs and PLC components strongly preferred.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required, including work hours as business demands dictate.

Physical Requirements
The Instrument Technician will be required to frequently stand, walk, reach with hands at arms’ length, climb or balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. They will occasionally be required to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision to read and interpret electrical schematics and components.
