The Staff Accountant is a hands-on role; we’re looking for someone to be responsible for the monthly closing process, presenting timely and accurate records, and analyzing financial statements to better understand trends and guide our clients' decisions. This position will be highly collaborative and analytical with the ability to highlight areas of concern and provide the best service possible.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all daily and monthly duties related to cash balance and month end closings as well as handling GL postings
- Support various schedules including the fixed asset schedule and schedule of debt
- Support in developing the financial statement structure and supporting schedules to provide enough detailed information to clients
- Prepare and distribute performance metrics and other financial reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- Gather and prepare information for the inventory and cycle counting programs
- Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies
- Analyze financial statements and summarize results
- Additional duties as assigned
Staff Accountant Qualifications:
- MINIMUM 2 years of related experience in a CPA firm, law firm, or family office
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is STRONGLY preferred
- Thorough understanding of accounting processes and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organization skills and a high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
