The Controller will be a vital member of our construction company's finance team, reporting directly to the President. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including accounts payable and receivables, Work in Progress (WIP) schedules, equipment policies, budgeting, forecasting, expense management, and month-end close processes. The Controller will play a key role in ensuring the financial health and efficiency of our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounts payable and receivables processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments and collections.
• Maintain and update Work in Progress (WIP) schedules to accurately reflect project costs and revenue recognition.
• Implement and maintain equipment policies, tracking the acquisition, depreciation, and disposal of company assets.
• Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis reports to management.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
• Review and approve expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies and budgetary constraints.
• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported in a timely manner.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for management review.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or 5 - 7 years of related experience.
• GAAP knowledge, CPA preferred.
• Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills.
