Job DescriptionHybrid role based in Evansville.
The Engineering department provides safe, creative, quality, and “in place, cost-efficient” structural and construction engineering solutions for internal customers (e.g. manufacturing and project management) as well as external customers with superior customer service.
We seek seasoned, licensed engineers (both PEs and SEs) ready to join a global organization that is creating and inspiring smart solutions in steel. Together, we deliver value and strengthen our communities for the future.
The Professional Engineer uses engineering systems and drawings to provide project coordination, structural design services, and models for customers.
  • Provides well-utilized designs of members and connections for Detailing and Manufacturing that meet customers’ requirements and achieve department objectives and profitability goals.
  • Leads by example to continuously grow and improve as part of a high-performance work team.
  • Assures building’s structural integrity and safety of own work along with the work of other Designer’s by checking their work.
  • Sign, seal, and date drawings, specifications reports, or other documents that correspond to the metal building portion of projects prepared under the sealing engineer's immediate personal supervision.
  • Embraces a growth mindset and develops advanced product, procedure, and technical knowledge.
  • Assures customer design service needs are met by adhering to design schedules.
  • Collaborates with project teams to discuss problems and challenges, then helps create and implement cost-effective, efficient solutions.
  • Provides technical assistance to customers on specific projects.
  • Mentors Design Engineers by providing technical guidance for customers, feedback on Design check projects, and direction on internal design procedures and systems/tools.
QualificationsMinimum:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Professional Engineering registration
  • 4 years of structural engineering experience
  • 2 years of engineering experience on complex multi-unit projects
  • Solid knowledge of building codes and specifications
  • Knowledgeable in steel design
Preferred:
  • Experience with commercial steel building design
  • Pre-engineered building (PEB) experience
Technical Skills & Competencies:
  • Proficiency with RISA 3D structural analysis and design software or similar, such as RAM, Staad, SAAP, etc.
  • Proficient with modeling software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
  • Ability to prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives
  • Effective communication skills
  • Leadership abilities such as supervising and mentoring skills
  • Time management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
