Schedule:This position is a part of the Nursing Management Team and will regularly work Monday through Friday with rotating on-call and Manager on Duty. This position must be willing to work the floor as needed as well.

Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Director of Nursing to join ourteam! The Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing the nursing function in the designated Continuing Care Retirement Community.

Responsibilities:

• Develops and implements the written staffing plan and nursing schedule.
• Oversees and manages the MDS function.
• Evaluates current residents and potential admissions to ensure that we can provide appropriate level of care.
• Assists with hiring and onboarding, training, development and retention of nursing staff.
• May be designated to assume responsibilities of daily operations of the facility in the Executive Director's absence.
• Ensures nursing staff is providing quality and appropriate resident care that meets or exceeds regulatory standards.
• Initiate preventive and restorative nursing procedures for each resident so as to achieve the highest possible degree of function, self-care, and independence based on resident choice, where practical.
• Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

• The Director of Nursing Services (DON) must be a Registered Nurse from an accredited college, be currently licensed in the state* applying to without encumbrance, and be responsible for maintaining professional licensure and CEU requirements.
• At least 2 years experience in a hospital or long-term care facility
• Must have at least 6-12 monthsof supervisory experience, preferably in a geriatric setting.
• Current CPR certification required
