TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
REPORTS TO: Charge Nurse, Supervisor and Director of Nursing Services (DNS)
QUALIFICATION: New York Department of Health Certificate
DEFINITION:
The Certified Nursing Assistant works directly under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and performs duties in a relation to the personal needs of the resident, care of supplies and equipment, and maintaining the cleanliness, comfort and safety of the resident in his/her environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Residents
Feeding and Assisting with Feeding (when necessary)
Making Beds
Safety of Residents
Assist in Admission of Resident
Assist in Discharge of Resident
To Ascertain Vital Signs
Rehabilitation
Attendance at In-Service
Punctuality and Attendance
Testing of Urine and Collecting of Specimens
Assignments
Personal Appearance
Cooperation
In addition to above duties and responsibilities, employee is expected to do any and all work involved in the operation of the facility as designated by the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) or Nursing Supervisor.
