Purchasing Agent - New Home Construction
Job Summary: The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials, supplies, and services necessary for the construction of residential homes. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent negotiation skills and a strong understanding of the home building industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Management:
- Source and purchase materials, supplies, and services required for home construction.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Inventory Control:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers in a timely and professional manner.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all purchased materials and services meet company quality standards.
- Collaborate with the construction and quality control teams to address any quality issues.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and inventory levels.
- Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement in the home building or construction industry.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
