Job SummaryThe Sr. Accountant position will support the Controller in assuring the accuracy of the general ledger postings, financial statements, monthly account reconciliations, fixed assets, budgeting/forecasting, and inventory accounting.
This is a highly visible position with opportunities for advancement for a self-motived individual with strong organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail.
There will be a thorough training process as the current Accounting Manager transitions into retirement.
Essential Job Functions
- Summarizes details in separate ledgers or computer files and transfers data to general ledger.
- Reconciles and balances accounts.
- Compiles reports to show statistics such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payables and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of business.
- Completes records to or through trial balance.
- Assists Controller with the development of policies, systems, and controls.
- Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts and reconciles bank statements.
- Lead the month end close process.
- Report monthly financial results and statistical data to parent Company in Germany as required.
- Report daily and monthly production, financial and other business related KPIs as required.
- Liase with other related Company plant locations to reconcile Intercompany balances.
- Maintains fixed asset records and reports related information to controller and corporate staff.
- Maintains Bill to/Ship to and Vendor Masters, payment terms, freight terms, and General Ledger Codes.
- Assist with internal and external audits and the yearly budgeting process.
- Complete the filling of the annual property tax submission.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3 years of experience working in accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- 3 years working with an ERP system.
- Self-motivated and self-starter.
- Proactive approach to work and communication.
- High level of dependability.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Experience with sales and property taxes is a plus.
