Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for structural steel fabrication and erection projects based on project plans, specifications, and client requirements.
- Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and material pricing analysis.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for bidding purposes.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, negotiate pricing, and finalize bid proposals.
- Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, material costs, and industry trends relevant to structural steel construction.
- Assist in preparing project budgets and cost estimates for potential projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in estimating within the structural steel industry.
- Strong knowledge of AISC structural steel standards and processes.
- Proficiency in estimating software, Tekla Structures is highly preferred
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
