Position Function and DutiesThis position has responsibilities to plan, execute, and finalize projects of all sizes according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. All functions are performed in accordance with the Agency’s strategy and the Innovation and Technology Department policies, procedures and guidelines with general direction from management.
Samples of this positions duties, are not limited to, but include:
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Ensure definition, documentation and approval of business requirements and technical solutions.
  • Prepare and update all project documentation as defined in standard operating procedures and guidelines.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Prepare progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations for the core team.

  • 2 years of IT industry experience.
  • 2 years of experience managing Information Technology projects.
  • Associate's Degree in the field of Information Technology, Business Administration or Project Management.
  • PMP certification a preferred.
  • ITIL v4 certification a plus.
  • Or any combination of education, training and work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position.
  • This position requires a minimum two year term and successful completion of the associated training plan prior to promotion eligibility.

  • Understanding of current industry standards, commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within the information technology industry.
  • Solid understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques.
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Solid ability to moderate meetings with documented results.
  • Solid ability for self-motivation and to be diplomatic in all situations.
  • Solid collaboration and relationship skills in a matrixed project organization.
  • Ability to lead multiples projects and teams across various functional areas as well as external vendors with the goal to meet critical deadlines.

  • Office: May require extensive time sitting at computer.
  • Work from Home: Majority of time is spent sitting at the computer.
  • This position may require going to other agencies, departments, and/or offices on different floors and/or buildings throughout the day.
  • This position may require fingerprinting to meet FDLE security standards.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment.
  • This position may require bending and reaching.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
