DESKTOP SUPPORT SPECIALIST – FORT NOVOSEL, AL

The candidate for this position will work within our team to support our government Information Technology (IT) program with our Fort Novosel client. As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will work to ensure successful operations of the Information and Infrastructure systems for Fort Novosel.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Function

· Perform tasks related to the implementation, administration, and support of MS Windows (Win) OS, including installation, software distribution, and implementation on client systems supported by the NEC.

· Provide troubleshooting support for software and hardware.

· Provide support for the administration of remote access systems.

· Provide minimal troubleshooting and installation support for Cisco VOIP desktop instruments and desktop computer connectivity.

· Support the implementation and adjudication of cybersecurity (CS) and security directives as promulgated by the Department of the Army Cybersecurity Directorate, CIO

Recommend methods to improve NEC operations.

· Provide service desk services including service desk and product support for COTS hardware and software, network support, repair service, including those dedicated to single applications and providing broad support for networks and desktop services.

· Work with the NEC communications staff to resolve problems and install, move and remove telecommunications equipment and service.

· Monitor all work orders and trouble tickets for status and compliance with established timeframes for work performance.

· Sort and route work orders and trouble tickets to the proper teams, assure customer information is correct.

Physical Requirements

· Predominantly indoors in normal office environment

· Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and reach

· Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English

· May require frequent computer use for several hours at a time

· Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions

· Must have visual acuity

· Must be able to lift up-to 25 pounds

· Fort Novosel, AL– This is not a remote position. Local candidates only.
