Job Title: Director of Operations

Reports to: CEO

Direct Reports: Warehouse Lead, Senior Production Administrator, Analyst, Operations Admin

Jack’s Abby Brewing is recruiting a Director of Operations to oversee its growing Operations Team. Jack’s Abby was founded in 2011 by three brothers, Jack, Eric and Sam Hendler and is still family owned to this day. We are known for creating high-quality lagers that honor tradition and the spirit of innovation.

The Director of Operations at Jack’s Abby oversees all production related operations functions at the brewery. These functions can largely be broken down into six areas critical to the brewery’s success:

Supply Chain Management

• Build systems and manage personnel to:
• Ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained to eliminate out of stock issues
• Ensure we are receiving competitive pricing on all raw materials we are purchasing

Scheduling/Planning

• Maintain all contract brewing schedules (brewing, packaging, etc)
• Provide guidance for scheduling of all Jack’s Abby brewing and packaging
• Maintain production vs. capacity forecasts
• Optimize production schedule to increase efficiency and rescue line changes

Forecasting

• Forecasting is the foundation to get much of the rest of the role done right
• Oversee an analyst and provide them the framework and guidance to build and maintain meaningful and accurate forecasts to drive the scheduling and supply chain functions of the brewery

Warehouse/Logistics

• Oversee Warehouse Lead and their direct reports
• Build and oversee systems to ensure inventory levels, goods receipts, bols, invoices etc are accurately recorded
• Oversee inventory counts
• Oversee planning for space and storage constraints

Contract Brewing Management

• Oversee communications systems between operations department and Contract Brewer partners related to: Scheduling, Inventory Levels, Outbound Order Management, New Product Management, and Quality Control
• Coordinate with Sr. Manager of Brewery Partnerships to assist with new contract partner onboarding.

Compliance

• Ensure Jack’s Abby products are properly registered in all markets they are being shipped into

The perfect candidate will have five plus years of experience in a senior operations role in a brewery or other beverage manufacturing company.
