The role of the Food Services Coordinator will be to coordinate and maintain the breakfast and lunch programs at BFCCPS. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position with a regular schedule of Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm. There are occasional after school meetings on Tuesday afternoons at which attendance may be required. Responsibilities:- Oversees all aspects of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs at BFCCPS- Coordinate meal services with food service management company or vendor providing meal services- Helps to prepare and serve meals daily- Provides applications for meal benefits to each household and approve and/or deny applications for meal benefits under the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs- Establishes a system for placing breakfast/lunch orders for the BFCCPS community, and ensures that all monies received are handled in a manner to prevent loss- Establishes a system and schedule for ordering breakfast and lunch orders from the Food Services Vendor- Takes meal counts upon delivery and reconciles with what was ordered. Follows up with the food services vendor if there are any discrepancies- Monitors and reviews the breakfast and lunch program procedures in order to maintain compliance with the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program guidelines- Plans menus, prepares meals based on directions from Food Services Vendor, and portions foods according to Federal and State guidelines- Puts into operation accommodations for children with special dietary needs- Follows safe and sanitary food handling procedures at all times- Implements and monitors safety policies and procedures- Coordinates any local, state or national health inspections as required- Responsible for planning, preparation, service costing, and billing of food for special school sponsored activities- Maintain required food safety certifications- Coordinate student eligibility for scholarships for school-sponsored events as neededBFCCPS opened in 1995 as one of the first Charter Schools in Massachusetts.
