Position Overview

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. (WSSI), a Davey company, is seeking an energetic, organized, and motivated Contract Specialist to join our Contracts team. The position will work most closely with the Contracts team in our Gainesville, Virginia office but may work from our Kent, Ohio office or be eligible to be fully remote. Primary duties will include contract review and negotiation, as well as managing insurance requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with internal project managers for multiple subsidiaries and affiliates across other divisions of our parent company (Davey Resource Group, Inc., ”DRG”) to provide contract management.

Job Duties

• Contracts and procurement support for state and local, federal, and commercial customers, under a wide variety of contract vehicles to include, GSA, IDIQs, MSAs and more.
• Review and redline terms and conditions for prime and subcontracts to ensure accuracy and compliance in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, industry standards and company guidelines; resolve discrepancies.
• Assess contractual risks and their resultant impacts to the company(s) and offer solutions to troubleshoot contractual issues.
• Assist project managers for WSSI/DRG and affiliates to negotiate terms and conditions and troubleshoot contractual issues.
• Communicate and troubleshoot issues for the contract workflow and processes with management and employees.
• Primary point of contact to review, negotiate and manage insurance terms and certificates of insurance (COIs). Serve as the main point of contact for WSSI/DRG and affiliates to insurance company representatives. 
• Manage contractual reports, data calls and audits. Manage and troubleshoot issues in customer systems and portal requirements, to include SAM, GSA, vendor compliance portals, etc.

Qualifications

Required:
• Ability to process a high volume of contracts and insurance for a variety of Davey companies with a short turnaround.
• Familiar with a variety of contract types, such as firm-fixed price, time and materials, firm-fixed unit price, cost plus, etc.
• Moderate understanding of state and local regulations and requirements. Basic understanding of the FAR and DFAR. 
• Demonstrate ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with high attention to detail.
• Strategic thinker capable of implementing risk mitigation policies and procedures while supporting the company’s growth goals and existing customer relationships.
• Moderate to strong understanding of various insurance policies, to include general liability, workers compensation, automobile liability, umbrella liability, etc.
• Familiarity with negotiating, requesting, and troubleshooting issues relating to certificates of insurance and related terminology, such as deductibles, endorsements, and aggregate types.
• Ability to mediate and resolve client and project manager concerns.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work in a team environment. 
• 5 years of experience in contract review, including indemnification and insurance requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalency or years of experience and education.
• Ability to work unsupervised; self-starter and ability to independently troubleshoot issues.
