RequiredApproximately 5 to 10 years combined experience as a construction manager.
The following skill sets are considered critical qualities that the candidate must possess:
Strong safety background with deep understanding of OSHA and Company safety requirements;
Very strong customer focus capabilities to closely interact with multiple organizational levels;
Demonstrated work experience in project execution;
A strong technical background in mechanical equipment installation / pipe fitting / HVAC or demonstrated exp

An associate degree in Construction Management and/or Engineering technology is required.
A BS degree in construction management or engineering is desired but not required. Knowledge of the methods, procedures, material, equipment and accepted safety practices used in the fabrication, manufacture, assembly and installation, and testing of mechanical material (process piping, HVAC, plumbing, etc.) for chemical processing plants, and other related structures.
Experience analyzing and interpreting plans and specifications; making technical inspections of mechanical material for chemical process plants or other related structures for conformance with specifications, and identifying and making recommendations as to necessary changes; inspection of the installation and assist in start-up and testing operations for mechanical components/systems.Construction oversight of capital projects up to $5M (mostly under $1M). Projects may encompass mechanical, civil, electrical and instrumentation. Project may be in the chemical process area or building facilities remodeling. The ideal candidate will coordinate work and update the project engineer as appropriate. The candidate will be the main point of contact for field activities, answering questions from the craftspeople or working with other resources to find resolution. The role also includes assisting with preparation of projects by providing constructability input and participating in the construction bidding process. This role will support the IEC construction manager for a $16M DCS upgrade; the portion this role will support is the control room modernization construction.
Typical hours would be M-TH 6 am to 4 pm. Most routine jobs are scheduled as 4-10s, however, there will be some projects executed during outages. We operate with an official fatigue day on the 14th day. Most of our outage maintenance windows are 2 weeks or less. The person could have flexible start/end time when there are not projects in execution phase and they are supporting design/construction planning tasks.
