Hire Resolve US - Executive Personnel Agency is Hiring a Structural Engineer Near Glastonbury, CT
Responsibilities:
- Serve as project structural engineer, supporting the structural lead or structural engineer of record
- Analyze new and existing concrete gravity dams, arch dams, buttress dams, spillways, powerhouses, intake towers, penstocks, dam gates, and similar structures for stresses, stability, and performance under extreme loads
- Develop and evaluate alternatives for new facilities and upgrades to existing projects
- Complete detailed design calculations and prepare design drawings and specifications
- Inspect ongoing dam and water resources construction projects for conformance with design requirements
- Inspect existing projects as part of regulatory compliance programs (e.g., FERC Part 12D)
- Participate in semi-quantitative risk analysis workshops
- Analyze and design other facilities as needed, including foundations, retaining walls, temporary works, and special structures
- Prepare formal written reports, give presentations, and participate in internal and client meetings
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited program
- Relevant coursework in structural engineering, including concrete and steel design
- 2 to 7 years' experience in structural engineering
- Engineer in Training certification or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire
- Familiarity with structural analysis software (SAP2000/STAAD/RISA/ANSYS, etc.) and AutoCAD
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel on temporary assignments
- Willingness and ability to work in the field and in inclement weather
- Salary: $75K/yr - $100K/yr negotiable
