Rolling Forks Vineyards is Hiring a Kitchen Manager Near Glenwood, MN

Job Description

We seek a motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead our kitchen team. This person will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of RFV Kitchen. You will prepare high-quality pizzas according to customers’ orders, and other light menu items. Your responsibilities include preparing various ingredients to be used on our menu, being able to maintain a clean workstation at all times, follow MN Dept of Health Food Code, top notch safety standards, making necessary food orders, have a great attitude and be willing to help create a memorable customer experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare pizzas out of our menu and based on custom orders
  • Wash and chop vegetables (for example, tomatoes, peppers, onions and mushrooms)
  • Monitor inventory and placing orders for more supplies as needed
  • Use less traditional ingredients to appeal to a larger audience (for example, vegan cheese and gluten-free items)
  • Prepare other menu items such as Charcuterie boards, soft pretzels, fresh fruits and veggies, etc
  • Recommend new recipes to update our menus
  • Maintain a clean cooking station and sterilize equipment
  • Monitoring the temperature and warming times of food items.
  • Preparing high-quality food items according to company recipes.
  • Ensuring that all utensils and cooking equipment are sterilized before each use.
  • Plating or packaging food items accordingly.
  • Managing all food order slips and ensuring that customers’ orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Disposing of expired or spoiled ingredients at the end of each shift.
  • Ability to craft specialty menus for special customer events - Mystery Dinners, Pasta Nights, etc. 

Job Requirements

  • Shows commitment to excellence and high standards in work product
  • Work experience in a restaurant kitchen
  • Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment and pizza oven
  • Understanding of food hygiene
  • Good time-management skills
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Food Safety Manager Certificate (ServSafe) is a PLUS!
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven food preparation and food handling experience.
  • Working knowledge of proper food handling procedures.
  • The ability to follow standardized recipes.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possesses and maintains professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Enjoys collaborating with others in a strong team environment
  • Must be 18 years or older

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds occationally
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to effectively accept inventory shipments, set-up and break down procedures, equipment, etc., and able to utilize dolly cart and assist in moving heavy objects.
