Description of Work
Anticipated Vacancy
This position is the Charge Nurse located at the ACDP DART Center (Goldsboro, NC). DART Center is a 300-bed residential treatment facility responsible for the delivery of substance use disorder treatment services to probationers sent by the courts and parolees released from the State Prison System and transitioning back into the community.
At this facility, the Charge Nurse provides professional nursing care/treatment to patients in accordance with medical protocols in a supervisory capacity. Work includes conducting needs assessments; developing, implementing, and evaluating treatment plans; and providing patient care and education to offenders in a state treatment facility. This position requires sick call assessments, medication administration, phlebotomy sticks, transcribing MD/PA orders, patient education, thorough medical documentation, monitoring/treatment of communicable diseases, and responding to emergencies. Individuals may be required to work any shift based on current needs of the facility, weekends and holidays with limited clinical supervision. This position will be the Charge/Lead RN assigned to 1st shift at the DART Center. However, any position is subject to work any shift based on the needs of the facility.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

About the NC Dept. of Adult Correction (DAC)
The Department of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision. Other divisions include Administration, Compliance & Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs & Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission and Rehabilitation & Reentry.
