Position Summary:*
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager performs all administrative and operational duties required to ensure the effective and accurate functioning of member service and teller activity, within the mission statement and branch business plan.In the absence of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager assumes the responsibility of managing the branch.

Areas of Responsibility:*
This position is responsible for the supervision and smooth operation of the day-to-day functions of the office and teller/MSR/UB personnel, exercising authority, assisting in hiring, training, and motivating staff. Will participate in evaluating the performance of assigned employees, assisting with staff meetings all within proper guidelines and according to MCU policy and procedure. In addition, the appointee will assist staff in processing difficult transactions, provide authority to approve transactions/functions, will lead and generate individual and coach subordinate sales/referrals in retail, consumer, business, mortgage, and investments to meet branch goal objectives as assigned. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, processing consumer loan and VISA applications within the appropriate guidelines, procedures, and policies. The Assistant Branch Manager has the authority to resolve issues, oversee security measures, and maintain a clear understanding of legal papers such as death certificates, power of attorney papers, trust documents, and summonses. The appointee will represent the credit union at external events and meetings as required.

Qualifications:*

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience, preferably in banking, with strong history of supervision.
  • Associate's degree preferred. High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise diverse personalities.
  • Well organized, flexible, able to multitask.
  • Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills with sales ability.
  • General understanding of the principals of banking.
  • Notary Public designation

Physical Requirements:
This position requires normal physical abilities as performed in an office setting and the ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
