Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

Summary

Plan, estimates and schedule maintenance activities. Processes, approves and prioritizes Purchase Orders, examines and determines best approach for work order completion, including obtaining necessary schematics and coordinating with maintenance parts department.

Hours are: Monday thru Friday, 8-hour days

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Estimate costs, including labor, materials, and contract services, for each work order.
  2. Utilize CMMS to support the maintenance function, including review and prioritization of work requests, and conversion of work requests into planned work orders.
  3. Assists with the development of preventive maintenance programs based on OEM recommendations, root cause analysis results, and learnings from the maintenance team.
  4. Be the CMMS Super User who understands all aspects of the system and can train other team members.
  5. Provide leadership and guidance to the maintenance department by directing activity of contractors and maintenance personnel through the execution of all planned downtime work, PM programs, work orders, MRO inventory organization, and machine-specific maintenance procedures.
  6. Assist in the planning and execution of capital projects and development of plant performance measurements.
  7. Create and track KPIs in Excel by running reports from the CMMS.
  8. Own the Asset Hierarchy by identifying all assets in the CMMS.
  9. Maintain bill of materials (BOM) information for every critical asset.
  10. Lead weekly Maintenance Scheduling Meeting.
  11. Maintain documentation necessary for operations including tracking work orders, requisitions, activity reports and daily logbook.
  12. Support the MRO team with parts acquisition and inventory management.
  13. Develops a file of standard work orders (plans) for regularly recurring repair jobs, based on historical experience, to simplify the planning process.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Requirements:

  1. High school or equivalent. BS Engineering, Business, or related preferred.
  2. Three plus years of related experience
  3. Ability to build positive, strong business relationships with vendors, suppliers and contractors
  4. Attention to detail
  5. Strong computer skills
  6. Inventory management, JDE, SAP, etc. required.
  7. Positive company relationships with all team members including management, maintenance, production team members.

Education

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience

Skills

Ability to read, write and interpret documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to speak with vendors in a professional manner. Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts and draw valid conclusions.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Required to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds, with a maximum distance required to carry 50 pounds of 100 feet at least 75% of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, push/pull, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach with hands and arms and walk up to 1/3 of the time; Sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel 2/3 of the time; talk or hear 1⁄2 the time

Environmental Conditions

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Have the ability to perform all above tasks in an environment of 90 degrees F or greater up to 50% of the time.

Be able to work and perform tasks related to warehouse safety. Be able to wear appropriate hearing protection for part of the shift. To be able to work safely in and around equipment at all times. Be able to operate a forklift in a manner that conforms with the OSHA standards.
