Responsibilities
- Manage the switchboard operations, ensuring smooth and efficient communication.
- Direct incoming phone calls to the appropriate departments or individuals within the office.
- Announce emergency codes as and when required, adhering to protocol.
- Ensure all communications are handled professionally and promptly.
- Handle high-stress situations calmly and effectively, especially during emergencies.
- Assist in other administrative tasks as needed to support hospital operations.
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with hospital staff and visitors.
- Use the skill of answering inbound calls to manage high call volumes efficiently.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in a similar role within the healthcare industry is preferred.
- Proven ability to handle a high volume of inbound calls.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor under pressure.
- Proficient in using computer systems and software relevant to the role.
- Must follow all confidentiality and data protection regulations.
- Ability to work in a team and independently when required.
- Willingness to work in different shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Must demonstrate professionalism and respect for patients' rights and individual needs.
- Ability to handle emergencies efficiently and contact the appropriate personnel.
- Familiarity with switchboard equipment and operations.
