The Woodmansee Group is Hiring a SVP, Total Rewards Near Greenwich, CT

The Woodmansee Group is a Retained Executive Search Firm representing a high-growth future market leader in distribution in North America and Europe. They are seeking an SVP, Total Rewards. This position will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive total rewards strategy that aligns with the Company’s business goals and objectives. This executive will lead the design, implementation, and management of compensation, benefits, and recognition programs globally.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with experience serving as the primary liaison to the compensation committee and has played a key role in M&A activities, including due diligence, integration planning, and harmonization of total rewards programs across entities. Previous public company experience is required.

This position reports to the CHRO and is located in Connecticut.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a total rewards strategy that supports the company's business objectives and enhances employee engagement and retention.
  • Tactical Accountability: A willingness to be hands on as well as strategic
  • Compensation Committee: Serve as the primary liaison to the compensation committee, providing expert advice and insights on executive compensation, incentive plans, and equity programs.
  • Compensation Management: Oversee the design and administration of competitive compensation programs, including base salary, variable pay, and long-term incentives.
  • Benefits Administration: Lead the development and management of comprehensive benefits programs that meet the diverse needs of employees and are cost-effective for the company.
  • Recognition Programs: Create and manage employee recognition programs that drive engagement and acknowledge outstanding performance.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Play a key role in M&A activities, including due diligence, integration planning, and harmonization of total rewards programs across entities.
  • Compliance: Ensure all total rewards programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements globally.
  • Market Trends: Stay abreast of market trends and best practices in total rewards and proactively adapt strategies to maintain competitiveness.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing total rewards team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Staff support will develop over time but initially will require an individual contributor.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data and analytics to assess the effectiveness of total rewards programs and make informed recommendations for enhancements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with HR business partners, finance, legal, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective implementation of total rewards strategies.

Position Requirements:

REQUIRED:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CCP, CEBS) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in total rewards, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Compensation Committee: Proven experience working with the compensation committee of the board of directors.
  • M&A Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing total rewards aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Global Perspective: Experience managing global total rewards programs in a multi-national organization.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • A confident and persuasive thought leader who is a critical and out of the box thinker (stands up and is not easily intimidated)
  • Both comfortable and effective in interacting with and advising the CEO
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into comprehensive total rewards strategies.
  • Collaboration: Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and with senior leadership.
