Summary of Duties:This position will primarily support the Kitting department, by overseeing a lead of Inspector/Packers. However, this position may also support other departments as assigned by the QA Manager, by providing administrative and technical assistance as it pertains to quality control and quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties: conducting inspections on quality related issues, reporting findings, generating reports, supporting, and inputting on special projects, participating in ISO audits. What You'll Do:
  • Lead a team of Inspector/Packers in the Kitting department, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Communicate significant issues or developments, such as nonconformities, both verbally to all necessary parties and by tracking them on an established Excel spreadsheet.
  • Maintain Kitting QA Hold Area
    • Document and track reoccurring issues
    • Help perform root cause analysis (RCCA)
    • Help facilitate rework as required
    • Maintain and log all issues and rework accordingly
  • Perform FPA's (First Piece Approvals) and assist with PPAP's when needed, as assigned.
  • Perform required inspections and document results
  • Put together the final FPA report
  • Assist departments with process improvements to include, but not limited to, quality alerts and operator training.
  • Establishing procedures and training manuals specific to production and quality where applicable.
  • Assist Quality manager in evaluating established procedures on a periodic basis.
  • Assist in the facilitation and execution of internal and external ISO, customer, or supplier audits, as needed.
  • Perform Quality Over-Inspections on jobs flagged by Quality (QCR).
  • Assist Quality department with RCCA, or other special projects when assigned or as time allows.
  • Follow all required safety guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • Associate's degree in manufacturing or quality related field and a minimum of 2 years of applicable experience in an industrial environment; or High School Diploma/GED and 4-years of mid to upper-level quality experience. Other education and experience combinations may be considered.
  • Must demonstrate good leadership skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to organize and prioritize.
  • This job requires standing, stooping and bending at least 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to work in an environment that is not climate controlled.
  • GD&T and/or CMM knowledge a plus, but not required.
