Director of Communications and Marketing

Our client, a Houston faith-based organization, is hiring for a Director of Communications and Marketing to join their team. This position will oversee all aspects of internal and external communication, including printed materials, website, social media and video production. This role will report to and work closely with the Dean in order to effectively communicate the mission of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Creatively develop internal and external communications strategies for the audiences of the organization.
• Maintain the organization's digital ministry, including website, livestreaming and its functionality and technical staffing.
• Produce and manage all digital and print collateral including copywriting, graphic design and content for distribution.
• Manage relationships with local press, as well as writing press releases for events and initiatives.
• Supervise a small group of volunteers that are responsible for photography and videography.
• Ensure website, app and all digital platforms are accurate and current, and provide a positive experience.
• Manage a small team of communications professionals.
• Collaborate with members of the organization to ensure that bilingual resources are available in English and Spanish.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required
• Three to five years' experience in marketing and/or communications in progressively responsible roles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Skilled in writing and proofreading
• Strategic thinker with initiative to research, design, develop, integrate and implement projects and ideas.
• Ability to manage staff and volunteers
• Organized and deadline oriented with ability to multi-task
