JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Reports To: Paint Line Supervisor / Process Engineer
Department(s): Powder Coating FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Must be able to comprehend all process control plans, characteristics to inspect, the specification, the evaluation and measurement techniques, sample sizes, sampling frequency, data recording methods, and the non-conformance reaction plans. Must be able to apply knowledge of control plans, at the powder coating process, to identify conformance.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
· Takes direction from Paint Line Supervisor / Process Engineer.
· Works in tandem with Line Leads on Powder Coating Line and Packing/Assembly Lines.
· Ensures compliance on work orders, schedule, and process of raw (hanging) and painted parts (take off).
· Spot checks parts for quality as they come off the line and reports discrepancies, then advises supervisor.
· Provides guidance to the team for the proper handling and packing of all painted parts to ensure quality.
· Ensures compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, and relevant control plans.
· Utilize calibrated measuring equipment, to verify quality.
· Work overtime as needed.
· Report quality defect rate to the supervisor / process engineer, to monitor FTT% (First Time Through).
· Continually recommend improvements to the process.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge and Skills:
· Ability to work legally in the US.
· Ability to read, write.
o Required to pass a comprehension test.
· Ability to add, subtract, divide, and multiply fractions and whole numbers.
o Required to pass a Simple Math / Ruler test.
· Ability to understand work process flow and troubleshooting.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Seeing: Must be able to read reports, use computer, see in dimly lit/confined spaces, read a tape measure or other measuring device.
Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, identify machine sounds

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing Ability to lift up to 70 pounds

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work required for this position is to be performed on-site. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
